At group meeting at work today we talked about the curve relating movie quality and movie enjoyment. The scheme (and awesome nomenclature) invented by my colleagues is to your right. Anyway, B. posited the movie “Battlefield Earth” as defining the extreme lower left of the curve.
You know what else is true of “Battlefield Earth”? It is based on Mitt Romney’s favourite work of fiction. As I found out reading this entertaining diatribe against the conservative movement by Rick Perlstein.
Romney claims L. Ron Hubbard’s “Battlefield Earth” is his favourite novel. I can’t think of any reason to claim this in order to be elected, so it is possibly even true. And after that you’re gonna make him the president of the U.S.? Don’t think so.
Update: I stupidly saved my illustrator file as an SVG and then converted it to a jpeg and now it looks hella ugly. Never again! Anyway, to cleanse your palate after that ugliness, here is a beautiful picture (it’s a picture of New York, it’s a picture of New York, it’s a big fat crazy picture of New York).
