Cross Canada Tour

So a week ago our friends A. and M. embarked on a cross-Canada bike trip (see www.tourdesustainability.org for all about it). For this reason, and because I like songs that mention cities, here’s a cross-Canada playlist!

British Columbia:
Gordon Downie – Vancouver Divorce
The Smugglers – Vancouver, BC
Buck 65 – Chilliwack
All State Champion – Curse of the Northwest

The Prairies:
Corb Lund – Short Native Grasses
Jackson C. Frank – Tumble in the Wind
The Guess Who – Runnin’ Back to Saskatoon
Neil Young – Don’t Be Denied

Ontario:
Sufjan Stevens – Sleeping Bear, Sault Saint Marie (technically this is named after the Michigan Soo, but who can tell them apart anyway, right?)
The Tragically Hip – Bobcaygeon (among the many, many choices for that town)
Jean Leloup – Balade à Toronto (that the best Toronto song I know has “et j’espère ne jamais arriver” as its lyrics pretty much sums it up)
Краснознаменная дивизия имени моей бабушки – Весна в Торонто
Jean Leloup – I Lost My Baby

Québec:
Malajube – Montréal, -40°C
Beau Dommage – Montréal
Arcade Fire – Neighbourhood #3 (Power Out)
Cowboy Fringants – La Manifestation
Richard Desjardins – …et j’ai couché dans mon char

Maritimes:
Sloan – The Marquee and the Moon
Joel Plaskett – Love This Town
